Marjorie H. Biszko, known to many as Maggie, passed away on September 19, 2026, in Fall River, Massachusetts, at the age of 79. She was born on November 14, 1946, in Middleborough, Massachusetts, and lived a life marked by kindness, humor, wisdom, and generosity. Maggie’s warmth and values were reflected in her Christian spirit and the way she treated others throughout her life.
Maggie was the daughter of the late Helen R. Thomas of West Wareham and the late William O’Brien of Middleborough. She was also predeceased by her husband William S. Biszko of Pensacola, FL, sister Susan Beard of Middleborough, her brother Robert Hollis of Middleborough, and Lindsay Quintal of West Wareham. She is survived by her daughter Katie Frias of Fall River and her two beautiful granddaughters; Maggie Ann Frias and Emmy Lyn Frias both of Somerset MA and her sister Cathy Spencer and her husband Len Spencer of North Bend, Oregon. She is also survived by her daughter’s father, Gerald Cavanaugh of Yarmouth. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember her with love and affection.
Maggie spent her early working years as a boutique manager on Newbury Street in the mid-1960s, where her eye for style and her friendly manner made her a natural fit for the role. She later built a respected career as a payroll manager for major corporations including Stanley Bosch and Textron. After years of dedicated service in that field, she transitioned into work as a human resources software consultant, traveling across the United States to train employees for Cedar Crestone. She took pride in her work and was known for her professionalism, patience, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. She retired after a long and accomplished career.
Outside of work, Maggie embraced life with enthusiasm and a great sense of fun. She enjoyed live music, Mardi Gras, boating, and shopping for steals. She also gave generously of her time to others and believed in helping wherever she could. One of her most cherished roles was serving as head of hospitality for the International Frank Brown Songwriter’s Festival for many years, where her welcoming nature and organizational skill left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and ease to those around her.
Those who knew Maggie will remember her as a woman who was not only funny, wise, and generous, but also deeply caring and full of life. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and appreciated, and she carried herself with grace and good humor. Her family and friends will forever treasure the memories of her laughter, her stories, and the many ways she enriched their lives.
Marjorie H. Biszko’s life was one well lived, and her memory will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In lieu of formal arrangements a Celebration of Life will be held in December.
