Matthew W. DeJardin

Our son Matthew “Matty” DeJardin, age 21, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Born in Taunton on April 29, 2002, to Deanna (Child) and Walter DeJardin. Matty attended Dennett Elementary School of Plympton, MA and then went on to Silver Lake Regional High School of Kingston, MA. He had an electrician apprenticeship and was working his way up to becoming an electrician. Matty enjoyed cooking, music, gaming, fishing and animals. He was kind, generous, fun and loving, he had the biggest smile, and he loved his family and friends immensely. Matty will be remembered for his contagious laugh, always being a goofball and trying to keep the peace everywhere he went.

In addition to his parents, Matty is survived by his brothers Nicholas Gustafson and Douglas Pacheco, his maternal grandmother Jean Rogers, paternal grandmother Claire DeJardin, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family. Matthew was also the grandson of the late Larry Rogers and Walter DeJardin Sr.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton, MA from 4:00-7:00pm. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
