Maureen “Mo” Boutilier,74, passed away on November 19th, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. BUT the real story began when a New Year’s Day baby was born on January 1st, 1947 in Ashland, MA. Little did she know at the time that there was a 3 year old toddler from the same town just biding his time until he could make a move. And when he did, those of us lucky enough to know them were given front row seats to a 60+ year love story.
Maureen and Robert “Boots” Boutilier embarked on a lifelong journey that took them from MA to CT, with two more stops in MA- collecting countless friends and memories along the way. Along with their three boys (Jonathan, Jason, Jamiason), that yes they gave all the same initials, JPB, Maureen thrived as the undisputed leader of this team.
Maureen was the Wife, Mother, Coach, friend, Batting practice pitcher, soccer goalie, fight mediator, cook, cleaner, shoulder to cry on, high fiver, hugger, cheerleader, advice whisperer, and whatever else was needed at any given time, up to and including soap in mouth washer when one of the boys might have let slip one of the bad words. And did we forget to mention party planner? Because no one could throw a party like Maureen. She could spend hours getting the house ready for fifty guests, be the last one standing at the end of the night, and be on the sidelines cheering for an 8am game the next morning while the house was spotless already. Still amazes us to this today.
And when her boys got a little older and she was reasonably assured they wouldn’t burn the house down Maureen embarked on a 30 year career as an Interior Consultant, bringing the same enthusiasm and passion to this role as she did all the others. Up until her retirement she helped bring life and color into countless homes.
In retirement, Maureen spent her days doting on her Grandchildren and continuing to clean up after Boots- some things never change.
Maureen is survived by her Husband Boots, three grown children- Jonathan (53) of CT, Jason (51) of PA, and Jamiason (45) of MA; Brother Tom of CA; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren (Kristen, Ashley, Timothy, Brendan, Cody, Kenzie, Cassie, Athena, and Amena). She is pre-deceased by her parents Thomas and Jean Doran and her sister Jeannie. Arrangements entrusted to Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, MA 02780.
