Mr. Maurice F. Guay, of Taunton, entered into rest Thursday, November 4th, 2021 at his home in Taunton following a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband to the late Barbara (Frost) Guay. He was born 86 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Alice (Lemieux) and Laureat Guay. Maurice was educated in Taunton, having graduated from Taunton High School and was a lifelong city resident. He was a proud Veteran and served in the United States Army. Prior to his retirement, Maurice was employed as a shipping foreman for Texas Instruments for over 30 years. He was a devout catholic and a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.
Maurice was an avid New England sports fan and especially loved watching the Bruins and Patriots. He enjoyed bowling in his younger years and loved going for walks around the neighborhood. He was all about his faith and was grateful to attend daily Mass. Maurice’s greatest enjoyment was being able to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Maurice is survived by his Three sons: Michael Guay and his wife, Linda of Cumberland, R.I., Barry Guay and his wife, Kathy of Taunton, and Stephen Guay and his wife, Betsy of Attleboro; and his daughter: Cheryl Mulhern and her husband, Russell of Taunton; He is also survived by his sister: Yvette Buffone; 10 wonderful grandchildren, 4 cherished great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews and his brother in-law Larry Frost and his wife Joan. In addition to his parents and loving wife Barbara, Maurice was predeceased by his two sisters Antonia Menard and Sr. Lucille Guay and four brothers: Francis, Norbert, Donald and Gerald Guay.
Visiting Hours will be held on Monday November 8th from 4-7 P.M in the Riendeau Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton. Funeral services will be begin at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home on Tuesday November 9th. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Parish, 249 Whittenton St., Taunton at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
