Mrs. Patricia A. (Broderick) Simmons, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Morton Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Richard A. Simmons for 46 years.
Born on July 8, 1945, to the late Phyllis (Billman) and James Broderick. Patricia was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy, NY. Prior to her retirement, Patricia was a teaching assistant for Taunton Public Schools for 13 years. She was a parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Taunton, a member of the Sons of Italy and Winding Book Village. She enjoyed watching the Lifetime Channel and crime shows. Patricia looked forward to going out to lunch and to the pool with her friends from Winding Brook Village, but anyone who knew Patricia, knew she had a love for shopping. Patricia had a huge heart and was loved by everyone, she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband Richard “Dick”, Patricia is survived by her sons Richard B. Simmons and his significant other Jennifer Tivey and Jeffrey A. Simmons and his significant other Laura Costello, her grandchildren Hailey and Jaedyn Simmons and her brother in-law Gilbert Simmons and his wife Carol. She was also the sister of the late James Broderick.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 11:00am in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 19 Kilmer Ave. Taunton, MA. Burial will follow at St. Francis (Old) Cemetery, 24 Glebe St. Taunton, MA. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricia’s name to The Sons of Italy, Peter B. Gay Lodge #540, 73 Washington St. Taunton or a charity of your choice.
