Rena J. (DeChamplain) Marvel

Rena J. (DeChamplain) Marvel, age 101, passed away peacefully at Marian Manor in Taunton on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerard E. Marvel. Born in Taunton, Massachusetts on July 23, 1924, Rena was the daughter of the late Albina (Marotte) and Henry DeChamplain. She was raised and educated in Taunton and remained a lifelong resident of the city. Rena was a devoted member of the former St. Jacques Church, now St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton, and was involved in the Weir Senior Group for many years.

She enjoyed playing bingo and, in her younger years, found great pleasure in bowling.

In addition to her late husband Gerard, she was predeceased by her son Karl L. Marvel and daughter-in-law, Marlene Marvel. She was also predeceased by her sister, Sr. Laurette DeChamplain, SUSC.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 9:00am – 10:00am in the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton MA 02780. A Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home at 10:00am. Burial will take place at St. Francis Cemetery, 24 Glebe St., Taunton, MA 02780.
