Richard H Benson

Richard H. Benson, age 76, passed away in Taunton on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021. Richard was born in Taunton on June 26, 1945, to the late Lenora (King) and Harold Benson. He was the loving husband to the late Helen (Cummings) Benson. Richard joined the National Guard and was dedicated to serving his country. He was a lifelong city resident and volunteered his time at a local soup kitchen.

He is survived by his stepchildren; David Levesque and wife Ann, and Sheila Levesque, brothers; Fred and Robert Benson, as well as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. In addition to Richard’s parents and wife, he was predeceased by his three siblings: Joyce Souza, Cynthia McPhilips, and David Benson. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Buzzards Bay, MA 02542 on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 10:15 AM.
