Richard “Dick” O. LeBrun Sr., 90, of Taunton, MA passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, MA. Richard was born on January 16, 1934 in Taunton, MA to the late Oscar and Lea (LaPlante) LeBrun. He was the beloved husband of the late Beverly A. LeBrun.
Richard was a graduate of Taunton High School Class of 1952 and went on to serve in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS New Jersey and USS Wisconsin. After his military service, he spent over 40 years working for the Foxboro Company in several roles retiring in 1997 as a Business Development Account Manager. Richard was a proud father and grandfather who cherished spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s many sporting events. He was the ultimate DIY-er and was the first to offer a helping hand on any automotive or home improvement project. As a longtime member of the Italian Naturalization Club in Taunton, where he served as president for over 10 years, he enjoyed the company of lifelong friends and fostered many new ones. He always looked forward to his annual fishing trips, loved taking care of his yard and was a master clam- boiler. Above all, Richard was a kind, caring man who up until the very end was more concerned with the needs of those around him.
Richard leaves behind his children Richard LeBrun Jr. and his wife Coreen of Marshfield, MA, Scott LeBrun and his wife Mimi of Andover, MA, Michelle LeBrun and her husband Robert Fitzgerald of Weymouth, MA and Suzanne (LeBrun) Zawacki of Port Charlotte, FL. He also leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren: Kyle, Timothy, Colby, Benjamin, Gavin, Lindsey, Connor and William and two great-grandchildren Charlotte and Landon. Richard is survived by sister, Irene Vaillancourt of Enfield, CT. In addition to his wife and parents, Richard is predeceased by his daughter Denise LeBrun, brother Robert LeBrun formally of Johnston, RI and sister Claire Poirier formally of Enfield, CT.
