Richard P. Silveira Sr. passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the age of 72 after a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong Taunton resident who was the son of the late Helen (Semas) Silveira and John Silveira. Richard was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and friend.
He leaves behind one son, Richard Silveira Jr. and his partner Kim, and two daughters, Janis Silveira and her partner Paul Romeiro and Jennifer Lopes and her husband JJ. In addition to his children he leaves one granddaughter, Andersyn Bishop, and three grandsons, Brayden Silveira, Bryce Silveira and Levi Lopes who were the loves of his life.
Richard was a hardworking dedicated truck driver who worked in the industry for over 40 years. He was previously employed by Semas Trucking, Abreau Trucking and McCabe Sand and Gravel. Richard was a true truck enthusiast who was most proud that his son followed in his footsteps. During his retirement he delivered parts for Coastline Heavy Duty Truck part time, a job that he loved. Richard also enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and spending time with his family and friends.
