Robert “Bob” R. Chase, age 86, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 2nd, 2024.
Bob was born on March 19 th, 1938 to Raymond and Anna (Sorochinski) Chase. Lifelong resident of Taunton, MA. Graduate of Boston University in 1964, Suffolk University in 1972 with his Master’s in Education and Heed University in 1975 with his doctorate in Philosophy.
He married Jeanne M. Dusseault in 1961, and had just recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Devoted to his wife who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, as her sole caregiver. Bob worked up until his time of death as a court investigator for Bristol County and as a realtor for Chase Real Estate, both jobs he enjoyed and dedicated decades to.
He was the proud father of Catherine Cyr of Taunton, Carin Breen (Scott) of South Easton and Kimberly Wallace (Keith) of Plympton. The proud grandfather of Carlyn McGonagle (Ed) of Kingston, Cailary Silvia of Providence, Camri Harrington (Luke) of Rehoboth, Mallory Breen, Nicole Breen and Morgan Breen all of South Easton. The proud great-grandfather of Blake and Chase McGonagle, Ivy and Bowen Harrington. He enjoyed starting his mornings with a cup of coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts talking with friends and having dinner almost every night of the week at his favorite restaurant, Homeplate. Lover of golf, cribbage, luxury cars and shrimp cocktail. He was an avid reader and never forgot to call and sing happy birthday when it was your day. He was well known wherever he went and will be missed so much.
In addition to his wife, daughters, granddaughters and great grandchildren, he leaves behind siblings, Ruth Lewis, Elizabeth Brezinski, June LaPointe, brother James “Billy” MacKenzie, and many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his sister Carol Ferreira.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
