Robert G. Hutchins

Mr. Robert G. Hutchins, age 76 of Taunton, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Sousa) Hutchins for 58 years. Robert was born in Taunton to the late Bertha (Weeks) Miller and Robert G. Hutchins Sr. Being the eldest of five children shaped Robert’s formative years. It was a dubious task that led to a lifetime of mischievous moments. Robert never met a microphone or inappropriate joke he didn’t like and his singing talent and sense of humor was enjoyed by many. A music and NASCAR lover with a penchant for making friends wherever he went, Robert will be sorely missed.

Robert was the father of William M. Hutchins and his wife Dianne, Matthew J. Hutchins and his wife Andra, and Rebecca A. Davis and her husband David. He was the brother of Thomas Hutchins and his wife Carol, Timothy Hutchins, Patricia Baker, and the late Daniel Hutchins. Robert was the proud grandfather of Bee, Billy, Kathryn, Lucas, and Eliana, and great-grandfather of Edith, Amira, Olive, Serayah, and Lyndee Jo. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
