Robert Rec

Robert Rec passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, surrounded and embraced by the love of his family. Bob (87) was a proud, devout religious man with a heart of gold and a gentle, subtle strength. He was a devoted husband to his wife Irene for 60 years and a loving father to his three children who adored him. He leaves his son Michael and wife Kathy, his daughter Joan and her husband John, and son Paul and his wife Lisa. He was an incredibly proud Jaju to seven grandchildren - Joseph, Jennifer and Jacqueline Connor, Christopher, Brigitte and Abigail Rec and Alexander Rec. 

Bob served his country in the Air Force as a member of the elite Honor Guard, serving in Washington DC and Iceland. Born and raised in Taunton, Bob was an active member of the Polish American Citizens Club. An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout New England. Bob will forever be remembered with a smile on his face, happiest when surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held at Riendeau Mulvey Funeral Home on Friday, 467 Bay Street, Taunton MA 02780, August 13th 2021 from 4:00PM-7:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Parish, 249 Whittenton St, Taunton, MA 02780 on Saturday, August 14 at 11:00AM. Please proceed directly to church. Friends and family are welcome and encouraged to attend to celebrate Bob’s life. The graveside service will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations be made in Bob’s honor to Birthright of Taunton, 468 Bay Street, Taunton, MA 02780.
