Robert "Bob" L. Marot, age 91, of Taunton, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Therese L. (Menard) Marot.
Born in Providence, RI, he was the only child of Leo and Catherine (Meledy) Marot. Bob was educated in Taunton and graduated from Coyle Cassidy High School. He started a private practice in Marriage and Family Counseling in 1961 and also worked at Taunton State Hospital and Carrigan Mental Health Center for over 30 years.
Bob was a good athlete playing basketball, tennis, golf and racquetball for years. He was an avid Celtics fan and also enjoyed playing cards (45) with his longtime friends, Abe Abdullah, Danny Johnson, Carl Barney and Dale Johnson.
In addition to his loving wife Therese of 69 years, he is survived by his son James Marot and his lifetime partner Andrea Dominick, his daughters Sandra Monteiro and Linda Marot and her life partner James O'Donnell, his adored five grandchildren Darcie Enos-Ellis and her husband Kareem Ellis, Keri Marot, Joshua Marot, Jordan Monteiro and Jasmine Perry and her life partner De'Sean Walker. Bob was also a great grandfather to Deja Enos, Jade Ellis, Adriana Ellis-Footman and husband Darron, Jamari Fernandes and Jaymison Marot-Nei and great-great -grandfather to Lailah and Ariyah Footman, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was also the father of the late Karen Marot.
The Marot family would also like to thank Danny Johnson and Louise Andrade for all their neighborly love, friendship, support and laughter over the years. We would also like to thank Colleen Furtado for all her love, support and guidance she showed her aunt, uncle and cousins. Last but not least the Marot family would like to thank Kevin and Kathy Cunningham for the Irish wit and laughter as well as their many years of friendship.
