Robert Leonard Silvia, affectionately known as "Bobby," passed away on May 17, 2026, in Taunton, Massachusetts, at the age of 58. Born on January 8, 1968, in Taunton, Bobby remained deeply connected to the community he called home throughout his life.
Bobby was the beloved son of the late Edith Wirkkula and Robert L. Silvia. He is survived by his devoted wife, Delia Galarza, who stood steadfastly by his side through life’s many joys and challenges. Bobby took immense pride in his family and cherished his sons and bonus sons: Robert Silvia Jr., Timothy Cowen (Trisha Cowen), Scott Cowen (Jamie Cowen), Anthony Quinones, and Junior Quinones (Robert Quinones). He also leaves behind his loving siblings: sisters Linda St. Martin, Bonita Vasquez, Mary Cavino, Roberta Silvia; and brother Felix Gonzalez. His legacy extends to his grandchildren Avery, Amias, Aiden, Emma, Emmett, Ethan, and Callie. Additionally, he will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
A passionate sports fan with boundless energy for life, Bobby found great joy in cheering for his favorite teams. Whether it was basketball, football, or baseball that brought people together in spirited competition, Bobby’s enthusiasm was infectious. Among all the teams he supported with unwavering loyalty stood his beloved New York Jets—a testament to his enduring spirit and dedication.
Bobby’s life was defined by his love for family and friends. Known for being family-oriented and compassionate, he had a remarkable ability to bring people together and create lasting memories. His humor and sarcasm could brighten even the darkest days; his hard work inspired those around him; and his caring nature left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
May Bobby's memory serve as a source of comfort to all who knew him. His laughter will echo in the hearts of those he touched, and his legacy of love will continue to inspire generations to come.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 1:00pm at Mayflower Hill Cemetery, 235 Broadway, Taunton, MA. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
