Roger P. Witherell

Roger P. Witherell, a father, husband and friend, was a lifelong resident of Taunton, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 44 on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025.

Roger was born on October 8th, 1980, to Pamela Ratliff and Steven Witherell. Raised and educated in Taunton, he attended Taunton High School and later joined the bricklayers' union, where he found joy in masonry work. For the past ten years, Roger worked as a gas worker across the state, showcasing his skills and enjoying various ventures throughout his life. He was a devoted father to three beautiful children early in his life. In January of 2021, he met his beloved wife, Melissa, and they were married in May 2022. Together, they welcomed another beautiful daughter into their family.

Roger's favorite pastime was taking fishing trips to New Hampshire and enjoying all outdoor activities such as hunting and tending to his family's yard and garden. He cherished the time spent with his best friend, Josh, and his grandmother, Celia, who was a significant part of his life. Above all, Roger loved his children and family wholeheartedly, working tirelessly to provide for them. He is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Witherell, and his children: Arianna Witherell, Roger Witherell Jr., Cameron Witherell, and Averie Witherell. He is also survived by his father, Steven Witherell, his mother, Pamela Ratliff, his grandmother, Celia Witherell, and her late husband, Allyne Witherell, along with many other extended family members and loved ones.

To honor Roger and his memory, visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025, at Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St., Taunton, MA 02780, from 5:00-8:00 pm. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
