Roland LaMothe Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roland Alfred LaMothe on Sunday, June 21, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and friend whose kindness, humility, and love for family touched all who knew him.

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, on April 30, 1947, Roland was the beloved son of the late Henry LaMothe and Therese A. (Pare) LaMothe. Raised and educated in Taunton, he remained deeply connected to the community he proudly called home throughout his life.

Roland dedicated many years of his career to the manufacturing industry, working in plastics manufacturing with a strong work ethic and quiet determination that earned the respect of his coworkers and friends. He was a man who believed in the value of hard work, loyalty, and taking pride in a job well done.

A proud United States Coast Guard veteran, Roland faithfully served his country for four years. His military service was a source of great pride, and he cherished the friendships and camaraderie he shared with fellow veterans throughout his life.

Above all else, Roland enjoyed spending time with family. He found his greatest joy in the company of those he loved and treasured every opportunity to gather with family and friends. Whether attending sporting events, sharing stories, or simply spending time together, he created countless memories that will be cherished forever. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite teams throughout the years.

Roland was the beloved husband of Lorraine M. (Martin) LaMothe, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and companionship.

He leaves behind his loving children, Richard “Rick” LaMothe and his wife, Christine Baptiste-LaMothe, and Lisa Melo and her husband, Brian. He was the proud and devoted grandfather of Evan Melo and Nolan Melo, who brought him immeasurable happiness.

Roland was the brother of Blanche Burgess and her late husband, David; Raymond LaMothe and his wife, Donna; and Diane Sloan. He further leaves several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss his warm smile, gentle spirit, and unwavering love.
