Sandra Graduated from Lewiston High School, 1958 and
graduated from Mass General Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1961 and in 1976
she graduated from Bridgewater State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Over the years Sandra held many positions in the medical field and retired from
Taunton State Hospital in an Assistant Director of Nursing position in 1995.
In her retirement Sandra relocated to Florida and worked
another 10 years before retiring again as a Director of Nursing in a long-term
care facility. She and Richard moved to a 55+ Golf Course community, Schalamar
Creek, in Lakeland Florida on the 12th green with a beautiful pond
in her back yard. Everyone there
travelled in their own golf cart and she lived in their dream home for 20
years.
Sandra and Richard moved back to Taunton in November 2016,
because of Sandra's failing: health issues and the need to be near family. They
moved to another wonderful 55+ community, Colonial Estates, with wonderful
neighbors that helped and enabled Richard to care for Sandra at home, along
with his family and Compassionate Care Hospice.
Sandra was the wife of Richard Thetonia for over 30 years,
she leaves her son Dennis Walton and wife Jackie of Dover NH, Sharon Clemmey
and her husband Scott of Taunton, Jennifer Whitehead of Beverly Ma, and
Christopher Horrocks, of Concord, NH, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She also leaves two sisters, Linda Crosby, of Arlington Texas and Sheila Rand,
of Creston California.
