Mrs. Shirley Mae (Overlock) Desalliers, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 26, 2023. She passed in Buzzards Bay after a period of declining health. Shirley was a cancer survivor.
Shirley was born in Taunton, the daughter of Royce and Jessie Overlock. She was raised in Berkley, and attended Berkley and Dighton schools.
Shirley was the loving wife of the late Charles J. Desalliers for 56 years. They raised their four children in Taunton; Jack (Chris) of Yardley, PA, Karen (Gregory) Rico of E. Taunton, Pete (Robin) Desalliers of Raynham and Melanie DaRosa of Buzzards Bay, with whom she lived. She also leaves her grandchildren; Phillip, Nicole, Greg, Jeff, Chuck, Michelle, Alison and Michael.
Her great-grandchildren; Paige, Parker, Paisley, Paxton, Taylor, Isabelle and Madelyn. Also her loving companion, her dog“Charly”, and many relatives and friends. She was the sister of Leon “Bub” Overlock and the late Calvin, Carl, and Albert Overlock.
She was the most loving and caring Mom, Gram, and Memere. In her younger days she enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren, refinishing furniture and making crafts with her husband, and spending holidays at home with the family.
Visiting hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held at the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, MA on Tuesday, October 31 from 9:00 to 10:30 am. A Funeral Mass will immediately follow the visitation at 11:00 am at St. Jude the Apostle Parish, 249 Whittenton Street in Taunton. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 475 E. Britannia St., Taunton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Southcoast Visiting Nurse Association (Hospice) for the outstanding care given to our Mom.
