Simone Blanche (Laliberte) Barros

Simone Blanche (Laliberte) Barros, 77, of East Taunton, passed away at Morton Hospital in Taunton, surrounded by the love of her family on Friday August 7, 2026.

Born in Taunton on October 29, 1948, Simone was the daughter of the late Raymond and Theresa (Pelletier) Laliberte. She was the beloved wife of David J. Barros, with whom she shared more than 55 years of marriage. Simone was raised and educated in the Taunton area and attended Cape Cod Community College, graduating in 1969 as an LPN. She went on to pursue a career in nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse, a profession that reflected her caring and compassionate nature.

Nothing mattered more to Simone than her family and the shared experiences that brought them closer. Whether she was relaxing at home enjoying movies and reality TV, or exploring her favorite destinations like the Florida Keys and the New Hampshire lake region, she was always happiest making lasting memories with the people she loved.  She also had fond memories while staying in the family cottage in Onset. Simone also had a lifelong love for animals and held a particularly special place in her heart for the many dogs she loved and cared for throughout the years.

In addition to her husband, David, Simone is survived by her son, Mark D. Barros and his wife Angela Barros; her daughter, Nicole Bellardino and her husband Gary Bellardino; her grandchildren, Alexander Barros, Matthew Barros, Ryan Bellardino, Allison Bellardino, Grace Bellardino; and her step-granddaughter, Elizabeth LaPine. She was also the sister-in-law of Raymond and Joan Barros, and also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Simone was predeceased by her brother, Robert Laliberte, and his wife, Deborah.

A woman of Catholic faith, Simone will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her caring spirit, her love of animals, and the many cherished memories she leaves behind.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 12th, 2026 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Riendeau Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton, MA 02780. A funeral service will follow at 10:00am on Thursday, August 13th, 2026 in the funeral home, followed by a burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, 475 E. Britannia St., Taunton, MA 02780.
