Stanley Pokornicki Jr.

NEW BEDFORD- Stanley Pokornicki Jr., 69, of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Stanley and Genowefa “Jenny” (Ankiewicz) Pokornicki, he grew up in New Bedford and was a graduate of The Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School. Stanley worked as a licensed electrician until his retirement. He was also a skilled handyman. Stanley could always be counted upon by his friends and family to lend a helping hand on projects.

He was proud to have hiked portions of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, frequently spending significant time on the trail surrounded by its beauty. He enjoyed telling stories to his family, friends and strangers about his adventures in nature.

A parishioner of Harvest Church in New Bedford, he made it a priority to attend both weekly mass and bible study. He spoke highly of his fellow church members and especially his Pastor, Jimmy.

He is survived by his daughter Jessica (Matthew) Santos of Virginia, grandchildren Calvin, Grant, Tyler and Abigail Santos; his brother, Steven (Pamela) Pokornicki of Michigan and a wide network of dear friends.

A service and fellowship will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 4 pm at Harvest Church located within Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, 884 Kempton St., New Bedford, MA 02740
