Stephen Mark Kirkland, age 70 of Taunton, passed away after a period of declining health on Sunday, January 15, 2023, with his loving family by his side. Born and raised in Taunton, he was the son of the late Virgil Kirkland, Roselina Wales and step-father Robert Wales.
He was a proud Army veteran and then worked as a machinist for over forty-five years, retiring a few years ago after 23 years at Reiser. He was a generous supporter of many charities and was a communicant of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Raynham. He was a loving and supportive Dad and an amazing man who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. He loved listening to music, attending concerts, the Boston Pops, family trips to the Cape and New York, fishing, watching movies, reading, cooking and sharing a meal with family and friends.
He was so kind and had a huge, loving heart and you always knew everything would be okay with him by your side. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by all who were blessed to have him in their lives.
He was the beloved and devoted husband of Mary Kirkland (Westfall) for over 36 years. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children; Robert Kirkland and his wife Lisa Kirkland of Taunton, Stephen Kirkland and Melissa Kirkland. Brother of Patricia Peterson and husband Gerald of Taunton, Michael Kirkland of Tennessee, Linda Williams and husband Robert of Florida and the late Deborah Hames of Tennessee. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and his best friend Mark Borgal of Taunton.
Visitation will be held on Friday January 20, 2023 from 9:00-11:00am at the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home 467 Bay St. Taunton, Ma, a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am in the Funeral Home followed by a burial at St. Joseph Cemetery 475 E. Britannia St. Taunton, Ma.
