It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we celebrate the life of Sylvina Eurika Vesprey, a remarkable woman whose spirit touched every heart she encountered. Sylvina was born on March 16, 1938, in Trinidad and Tobago to the late Ida Jackson and Hensley Hutchinson.
A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her dear son Michael and is survived by her devoted son Marcelle (Patricia), along with her twelve grandchildren: Natisha, Sheldon, Janel, Marcus, Danielle , Tanya , Marlon, Meisha, Jeannette, and Jasmine, and twelve adored great-grandchildren.
Sylvina was more than a mother and grandmother . Known for her legendary cooking, she could turn any meal into a feast and any kitchen into a gathering place. Her food was more than sustenance—it was comfort, tradition, and love served on a plate. From savory Trinidadian classics to sweet treats made with care, her culinary gifts brought joy to all who tasted them.
But it wasn't just her cooking that drew people in—Sylvina had stories for days. A natural storyteller with a twinkle in her eye, she could captivate a room with tales of the past, family history, or humorous anecdotes from her own colorful life. Her laughter, and vibrant spirit made a dark space light up.
She leaves behind a legacy rich in love, culture, and unforgettable memories. Though Sylvina is no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to live on in every shared meal and every story told
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
