Waltela M. (Rusiecki) Meunier

Mrs. Waltela M. (Rusiecki) Meunier, age 102, of Taunton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at Marian Manor. She was the devoted wife of the late Lawrence J. Meunier.

Born in Taunton on June 30, 1923, Waltela was the daughter of the late Mary (Kopcinski) and Albert Rusiecki. A lifelong resident of Taunton, she was a dedicated parishioner of the former Holy Rosary Parish in Taunton. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Meunier was employed with the former Whittenton Garment Corp., where she was recognized as an exceptional Tacker, she crafted wedding gowns, prom dresses and many other types of clothing out of her own home. Waltela found joy in knitting, crocheting, and cooking. Above all, she cherished raising her family and treasured the time spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Joyce Pelletier and her late husband Richard of Ft. Pierce, Florida, and Cynthia O’Brien and her husband George of Taunton. Waltela was predeceased by her daughter, Constance Factor. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Meunier was predeceased by her two brothers, Joseph and Edward Rusiecki and was the mother-in-law of the late Frank Pelczarski.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St., Taunton, MA. Funeral Service will follow at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, 475 E. Britannia St., Taunton, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
