Wayne Adams Obituary

Wayne Lester Adams, affectionately known as "Butch," age 69, of Taunton, MA, passed away peacefully on September 1st, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Boston, MA, on May 5th, 1956, Butch was the beloved son of the late Larry Jones and Helen (King) Ryan. He was a devoted husband to Lisa (Vargas) Adams and a loving father to Chris Adams and his wife Amy, a dear brother to David and the late Cindy (Collins) Ryan, and brother to the late Billy Ryan, as well as the late Linda Riordon. Butch was a proud "Papa" to his grandchildren Christopher Jr. and Victoria Adams, and a cherished uncle to Darlene Ryan-Jones.

In his free time, Butch found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved going to the beach, watching his grandkids excel in hockey, soccer, baseball, and gymnastics, and caring for his beloved cats. Butch was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether preparing a meal or sharing a story. He was more than just a husband, father, and papa—he was a devoted friend, brother, and uncle. He cherished every moment spent with family and friends, building memories that will be treasured for generations. His heart was open to all, and his generosity and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa of Taunton, MA; his son Chris and wife Amy of Dedham, MA; and their two children, Christopher and Victoria, who were the lights of his life. Butch is also survived by his former wife, Patricia Adams, their bond though changed by time, remained one of mutual respect and care, offering each other comfort and companionship, in his final days.

Butch’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he graced.
