Wendy Johnson Obituary

Wendy Lee Johnson passed away peacefully at her home in Taunton on Thursday, August 7th, 2025, at the age of 52. She was surrounded by the love and support of her family and friends.

Born and raised in Middleboro, Ma., Wendy was the daughter of John Willard and Lillian Hesketh (Labonte). She graduated from Middleboro high school and later received her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development from Bridgewater State University. Thriving in her field as an educator and caregiver, she loved teaching, taking care of children, and quickly rose to the position of Center Director.

Wendy’s love for the outdoors, animals, and the natural world was only surpassed by her passion for bees. She was completely in her element toiling with her hives as an amateur bee-keeper on her brother’s property in Plymouth and happily shared her honey with family and friends. She enjoyed kayaking and camping trips with loved ones, her dogs, adventuring with anyone willing to go along for the ride and finding joy in every day. A fun-loving busy bee herself, she was always on the go.

As an active member of Christ Community Church, Wendy always had Jesus in her heart and lived everyday with altruistic intention, unconditional love, and a will to help anyone in need. She sought her motivation as a good servant in the Parable of Talents, Matthew 25:14-30 and longed to hear the reply, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Wendy is survived by her husband Michael Johnson of Taunton, Ma, step son Timothy Johnson of New Bedford, Ma. Her Mother Lillian Labonte, and step father Ken Labonte of Lakeville, Ma, her Brother John Hesketh of Plymouth, Ma. As well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
