William Rannikko Obituary

William Rannikko, 90, of Village Rest Home of Easton, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital, Brockton, after an illness with Covid 19 on Sunday, May 24, 2020. William was born in Worcester, the son of the late Hjalmar and Mary (Warala) Rannikko.

He was also predeceased by his son, David Rannikko; and his five siblings: Reno Rannikko, Theresa Rannikko, Phil Strand, Roy Rannikko, and Mary Bazinet; and his former wife Marjorie (Hall) Rannikko. He is survived by his eight children: Susan Kelley of Branford, CT, Robert Rannikko and his wife Shelley of San Diego, CA, Lois Hill of Spencer, William Rannikko of Worcester, Jayne Sarkisian and her husband James of Auburn, Debra Morrissey and her husband Brian of Webster, John Rannikko of Auburn, James Rannikko and his wife Kellie of Oxford. He also leaves 21 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Prior to retirement, he was a police officer in Auburn and Westboro, and a siding installer at Erickson Siding and B G Siding. He was a member of the First Congregational Church where he taught Sunday School. He was fearless, an inventor, loved demolition racing at Westboro Speedway; and enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, bowling, and watching the Red Sox on TV. He will be remembered as a loving father who provided a strong foundation, a guiding hand, and taught his children right from wrong. He will always be loved and missed by his children.
