Yadira “Tia” (Zamora) Figueiredo was born April 10th, 1952, to the late Marcial and Marina Zamora in San Jose, Costa Rica. She emigrated with her family to the US at age 12 to New Orleans, LA. In 1971 they moved to Brockton, MA, where she met Joe Figueiredo at Brockton Sole and Plastics. Joe and Yadira were married in July 1972. They welcomed their first son, Chris, in May 1973. The family of three moved to Taunton in 1974 and then in 1977 became a family of four by welcoming their second son, Jason, in August of the same year. In 1978 Yadira and Joe became US Citizens. Yadira worked at Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 25 plus years and then at Wheaton Collage for 11 years until her retirement in 2015.
Yadira was known as a loving wife and mother who was actively attending Calvary Temple Church in Fall River. The biggest enjoyments of her life, outside of the church, was spending time with family, traveling, making homemade tamales and tortillas, shopping, cleaning, and paint-by-number.
Yadira is survived by her loving husband Joe; sons Chris and Jason Figueiredo; grandchildren Lucy and Lorelei Figueiredo; and sister Giselle Figueiredo and daughter in law Jenna. She is preceded in death by her parents Marcial and Marina Zamora and brother Minor Zamora.
