George Mandeville Obituary

George Mandeville, age 76 of Taunton, passed away on June 27, 2022 at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care. He was the son of the late Jean and Elizabeth (Daignault) Mandeville. He was also the fiancé of the late Pauline Rossi.

George leaves behind his son, Jason Mandeville and his fiancé Danielle Jenkins. His granddaughter Ayla Schultz, her husband Justin and his great grandson Lucas all from Virginia. George also leaves behind his stepdaughter, Karen Marcure and her husband Dennis. He was Grampy George to Kyle, Jeffrey and Jessica Marcure, all from Attleboro, MA.

George “G6” “Grumpy” leaves behind a myriad of friends who have joined him in many of his favorite hobbies.  George loved hockey and attended several games of his favorite team the Boston Bruins. George also enjoyed trapshooting and traveled everywhere for events. George was an avid scuba diver, diving throughout New England and the Caribbean.  George, also loved Rollercoasters!!  The bigger, the fastest, the biggest g-force, it was in his blood. He has been to amusement parks everywhere from New England, New Jersey, Florida and to Cedar Point. He was an adrenaline junkie when it came to rollercoasters.   George also enjoyed bowling and although the perfect 300 game eluded him, he did achieve success with golf, where he shot a “Hole in One” at John F. Parker Golf Course during league play.  One thing he truly treasured was traveling to Myrtle Beach with his Golf Buddies for a week every year.  George also enjoyed volunteering at the Deutsche Bank Championship Golf Tournament at TPC in Norton where he had the opportunity to meet and watch many of his favorite golfers.

George joined the Taunton Elks #150. During his time with the Elks, he was nominated for various stations, which ultimately lead to the position of “Exalted Ruler”. During his year as Exalted Ruler, he enjoyed helping the lodge through transition to a new meeting facility and the various events held through the year. He also enjoyed bartending at the lodge during the week. George was always willing to volunteer at any event associated with the Elks whether it be cooking breakfast on Thanksgiving, participating in Christmas is for kids, helping with the scholarship or any other events.  He could always be counted on to lend a helping hand.

Per his request, George has asked to be cremated without services. His family ask that as a friend, please remember him, enjoy the memories, share the fun times and have a drink in remembrance of him.  Remember “George was here” and “It’s Miller Time”.

In remembrance of George Mandeville, the family has requested that donations be made in his memory to:
