Lorraine Dietzler Obituary

Mrs. Lorraine (Morin) Dietzler, age 92 of Taunton, passed on peacefully, with her loving family by her side, on Thursday May 18, 2023.

Lorraine  was born on January 23, 1931 to the late Irene (Grise) and Louis Morin  She was raised and educated, bilingual in French and English, in the city of Taunton.  She pursued a career in the Navy as a photographer serving in the Korean War.  She met her late husband, George A. Dietzler,  during her service.  Prior to her retirement, she worked as an office manager and a billing specialist at Compass Medical.  Lorraine was a former parishoner of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.

Lorraine was motivated in life by her Catholic faith and her belief in human equality.  She navigated through many challenges as a strong woman and eventual mother of five. She continuously adapted to the tides of her life, rising to meet the needs of her family.  Later in life, she sacrificed her time and energy in devotion to the care of her family.  Her maternal presence will be deeply missed.

Lorraine was an extraordinary knitter and seamstress. Elle etait une fiere soprano.  She shared her hobbies with her family including her passion for music, reading, learning, teaching and passing on her traditions as an inspiration to her children and grandchildren.

Lorraine is survived by her children Cecilia Dietzler and partner Tom Ruotolo of North Scituate, RI, George and Diane Dietzler of Dighton, Anthony Dietzler and Maryanne Hodgkins of Taunton, Karl Dietzler of California, her siblings Donald Morin of New Hampshire and Pete and June Morin of Berkley.  She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren Molly O’Brien and Michael Dunlap, Simone and John Salle, Jens Dietzler, Heather Quagan, Beth DaRosa and Keri Goldman and her great grandchildren Julia Quagan, Nevaeh DaRosa and Adaleigh DaRosa.  Lorraine was the mother of her beloved son, the late David Dietzler of Taunton.
