It is with hearts full of love that we announce the passing of Patricia White, of Southborough, MA and Punta Gorda, FL, who left this earth on March 10, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was 86.
Pat was born in Newton MA in 1939 to Catherine (Bonarrigo) of Italy and William Docherty of Scotland, and raised in Waltham, MA. Pat’s most cherished childhood memories were made in her family home on Beal Rd. in Waltham, and working with her siblings at their dad’s bakery, Meikle’s, in Brighton. She always said she had the most wonderful family.
After meeting at the Wal-Lex in Waltham, Pat married her love, Randy, who became an Army First Lieutenant in the 82nd Airborne, a weapons instructor at West Point, and ultimately a serial entrepreneur. Pat loved the ceremony of the military and reminisced about it often.
Pat and Randy worked together for many years building various businesses. They raised their family in NY and MA before retiring to FL in 2000. In their sixty years, they were fortunate to enjoy family vacations to NYC and Puerto Rico, summers in Yarmouth and Wallingford, and many New Year’s Eves in Pat’s favorite destination, Las Vegas. They also had the honor of attending two Presidential Inaugurations.
Pat’s cooking was magical; her Bolognese, shortbread, and stews were legendary. Pat loved cannoli, chocolate, Cabot’s, crossword puzzles, poker, old movies, Perry Como, the Andrews Sisters, Italian music, bagpipes, attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sports and school activities and Tom Selleck’s salute. She had the kindest heart, the softest hands, a mischievous sense of humor, and a resolve underestimated by most. She did not just live a good life - she made life good for those around her. In later years, nothing brought her more joy than her grandchildren.
Pat was predeceased by her husband, Randy, her siblings and their spouses, Catherine and Al Terrano, Billy and Geraldine Docherty, Marie and Ron Ostman, and her dearest friend, Lori LePage.
She is survived by her daughter Cheryl, her son Lee and his wife Eileen, granddaughters Haydn and Emerson, in-laws Maureen and Joseph Bentley, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be planned for later this year, where Pat will ultimately rest beside her husband at the National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida.
